What to know before participating
Transformative Tides sound bath experiences happen in a variety of settings — public sound baths, private gatherings, workplace or community events, ceremonies, and more. This page is here to help you understand what to expect, what you may wish to consider, and how you can choose to participate.

What you'll experience
These are non-clinical, live acoustic listening experiences featuring crystal singing bowls, and depending on what's arranged for your session, you may also hear an ocean wave drum, chimes, or other resonant instruments.
During a session, you may hear sustained tones, overtones, changes in pitch and volume, and periods of relative quiet. The sound may vary in volume and character throughout a session. Some sessions may also include brief verbal guidance from me, either before the sound begins or at points throughout. Instrumentation, format, and setting vary by event.
No prior experience is needed. This isn't hands-on — there's no physical contact involved, no particular reaction you're expected to have, and no outcome to aim for. You're invited to simply listen, in whatever way is comfortable for you.

What to consider
Sound can affect people differently. Some circumstances worth thinking about before you attend:
Sound sensitivity
Tinnitus or a history of sound-triggered symptoms
Epilepsy or a seizure disorder
A pacemaker, defibrillator, or other implanted electronic device
Pregnancy
Recent surgery or a significant recent injury
These are examples, not a complete list — you may also be navigating another personal or medical circumstance that feels relevant to how you'd like to participate.
Having one of these doesn't mean you can't attend. It means I don't know your individual health history, sensitivities, or tolerance well enough to say whether this experience is right for you — and it wouldn't be honest for me to guess. If any of this feels relevant, the person to ask is your healthcare provider, who actually knows your circumstances. I don't provide medical advice or assess whether this experience is medically appropriate for you.
-
During the experience
You decide how you participate, and that can change at any point. Depending on the venue and event setup, you may have the option to sit or lie down — where those options are available, choose whatever's comfortable. You can change position, open or close your eyes, step outside, or leave — during the session, not just before or after. You may participate for the whole session or just part of it.
If something feels uncomfortable, overwhelming, or simply not right, you don't need to wait until the end, and you don't need to explain your decision to anyone.
