Grief Support Pilot Program
A structured, non-clinical, non-verbal sound series for individuals navigating loss.
In-person partnership offering with funeral homes across the Greater Saint Louis Area
Some families leave a service knowing where to go next.
Others carry grief quietly for months.
They may not be ready for a group.
They may not want more words.
They may not know what they need yet.
This program offers a place to rest without needing to decide what grief should look like.
Transformative Tides offers a six-week community aftercare sound series for funeral home partners.
Sessions are non-verbal.
Participants arrive, listen, rest, or step out when they are ready.
There is no sharing, no discussion, and no pressure to perform.
The program is meant to live alongside the care you already provide.
How the pilot works
Format: Group sound sessions
Series Length: 6 sessions (configurable)
Session Duration: 45–60 minutes
Participation: Optional & consent-based
Facilitation: Led by Erika Hood, Founder of Transformative Tides
Capacity: Typically 10–25 participants
Session Flow: Arrival → Settling → Listening → Gentle Close
People may sit, rest, listen, or leave quietly at any time. Nothing is required of them.
Why sound?
Some experiences don't want to be explained
Sound can offer a way to be present with grief without needing words.
Sessions use low-frequency, steady, minimally complex tones designed for quiet gathering spaces such as chapels or community rooms.
The structure is predictable.
The environment is calm.
Participation is never required.

Why this Program Exists
Many families want aftercare that does not ask them to talk before they are ready.
This program offers a structured, optional pause — community aftercare sound accompaniment that fits within the continuum of care you already provide, without adding clinical or operational complexity.
Pricing and structure
Pilot facilitation fees are currently waived for selected partners while program fit and early feedback are gathered.
Future programming is developed collaboratively based on pilot outcomes.
An optional participant donation pathway may be added.
About The Facilitator
Erika Hood is the founder and facilitator of Transformative Tides.
Her work is shaped by improvisational performance and film training — fields that require listening closely, responding in real time, and staying with uncertainty rather than rushing to resolve it.
Her practice is informed by body-oriented coaching study through The Somatic School, somatic attachment work through The Embody Lab, and grief and communal mourning lineages influenced by Francis Weller. She is certified through The Good Listening Project.
Transformative Tides is a non-clinical reflective accompaniment practice. Sessions and programs are structured presence environments and are not therapy, counseling, or medical treatment.
Professional and general liability coverage is maintained at $3M aggregate.
